Once you develop a degree a familiarity with the templates, you can pull together a book in a day. I generally get mine edited on January 1st and order a copy within the first few days of the year. That way my personal yearbook arrives the same time as the Lug yearbook. If you type my last name in the search box of Blurb, you can see some of the other books that I have thrown together. Years ago I wanted to publish just one book in my life, and now I have over a dozen. Granted they are nowhere near the class and commercial appeal of Dr. Ted, Kyle and others, but it's a book.
