Amazon vs. Borders? Amazon: no sales tax Borders: I pay sales tax Amazon: killer discount pricing Borders: nearly always significantly higher than Amazon unless I luck out with a coupon Amazon: books usually arrive pristine Borders: books frequently show shelf wear (and tear) With "free" (really $75/year flat rate) 2nd day shipping from Amazon, there's a lot to like about buying from them. Plus, as I mentioned, if I can't browse physically, I will spend less. Yay budget - more cash for cameras. ;-) John ----- Original Message ----- From: "John McMaster" <john at chiaroscuro.co.nz> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Wednesday, February 16, 2011 1:40:38 PM Subject: Re: [Leica] Borders bankruptcy I think all Borders mail order (or on-line) business for the past few years was carried out by Amazon.... john > -----Original Message----- > > The mother of the manager of the local Borders store told me 2 years > ago that if you went to the store here and they didn't have your book > in stock they ordered it from ...
