Hi Herb,
Whether your picture taking is work or for fun I agree with Tina...........
any camera requiring a battery to make it work there's absolutely no reason
in the world not to have a spare. I might say one is a fool for not having a

back-up! Period!

Like Tina, I have several batteries, a couple of Leica labeled, one came
with the camera. And I most stupidly bought a back-up Leica version for over

a $110. dollars because I was in a hurry and didn't "think about economics!"

However, the Hong Kong economical versions work equally as well, hold a
charge very well and I wouldn't buy another Leica badged battery ever again!

It's an absolute rip off of the worst kind! I can't write here what I
called myself for buying the Leica badged first back-up, certainly when I
discovered the economic versions about 1/10th the price that work equally as

well! Nor what one might say "colourful impolite words about Leica and their

battery rip-off!"

I have no idea who makes the Leica labeled batteries and I don't care as
I'll never ever buy another one at their ridiculous rip-off price. For all
we know the Leica battery maybe produced by the same people who make the
$10.00 model and they're the exact same battery! And you, "we" are getting

screwed royally by Leica if we buy a re-badged Leica battery.

I'd look into getting another battery for sure and the sooner the better. But

sure as heck not a Leica! Just the plain good old folks Hong Kong type and
you'll have enough money left over for an ice cream cone or two. Or if you
prefer, a couple of good old fashion single malt Scotches! ;-)

cheers,
ted
