That's the thing I like the most about the parade, aside from the straightahead visual pageantry. This is such a time-bending thing. Any given weekday there are tens of thousands of cars downtown... but this one morning we get to see history. Some of the wagons ARE over a hundred years old; the rest are authentic replicas. Ride in one for a while and you appreciate just how easy we have it. Even on concrete... I'd rather be on a horse, I think. R.
