Subject: [Leica] R9 users, is there no exposure lock when using matrix metering, only on spot and average?

Vick,

Matrix metering is a computer averaging program using a whole slew of
factors. Because of this there is no exposure lock, as you do not have a
single point to lock onto. By definition the computer program makes the
exposure from an average of all levels in the 5 zones used by the camera.
You can lock on to a single value only in spot mode. This is the same even
if you use a Nikon, Canon, Sony etc. The R9 manual explains this quite
clearly.

Cheers,
Gene

Hey, R9 users, is there no exposure lock when using matrix metering,
only on spot and average?

Mind checking on your camera for me?

On mine, only the spot and average metering work with the exposure lock,
i.e. locks the exposure when I push to the 2nd pressure point.

Vick
