This Compact/Classic Sonnar is reported to to have the focus accuracy adjusted to work best at f/2.8 rather than wide open. This is meant to assist with managing focus shift as you stop down. The fast Leica M lenses are reported to be optimised for wide open and some include floating elements to reduce the focus shift effect as is known. That is my experience with the 35, 50, and 75.
