Meltdown at Fukushima would mean that the cores would melt and stick to the bottom of their steel containers. There is no reason to expect any explosion, but viewers in their homes might automatically think of some kind of bomb-like explosion being possible. The Fukushima cores are not cooled with graphite, so would not create such a fire in the way that happened at Chernobyl. The 50 workers there are heroes and are hailed for their incredible, yet stoically workaday, bravery. As are the thousands of workers and volunteers in the tsunami and earthquake regions.
