The fishermen repeatedly tried to cast it away, but kept catching it, so they brought it ashore. At night they needed wood to sustain their fire and tossed the icon in. It wouldn't burn and at that point, the fishermen knew the piece of wood was related to a god, and set up an altar. Hermes became the patron deity of Ainos. Pan was his goat-footed son, hence the tradition of also placing goats on Ainos coinage. The denomination is a tetradrachm, about four day's pay for a soldier. C&C welcome Best, John
