Don't worry about whether people "agree" with your aesthetic decisions.
You can expect people to disagree with personal preferences
when stated as rules and/or laws.

Obviously artists with a strong vision can and will
create soulful photographs using either black and white or color;
according to their vision.

Black and white will not add soul to a weak photograph
(nor will color).

As has been pointed out
the vast majority of photographs sitting in shoe boxes,
on cards, disks, thumb and hard drives
are color photographs.
What percentage of those images hold strong aesthetic potential?
