Alastair,

Thanks very much for your comment.  You are in the majority,  
preferring the vertical, and liking the light in that one better.   
Looking at the original prints, I prefer the square one, I think,  
because of its greater simplicity in structure and design -- the  
superstructure rising above the RR track in the vertical one seems  
too fussy for me.   The square one has a simpler and more  
straightforward composition, which I like.
