Stan,

Another vote for the 28-90 asph - great lens, but quite heavy, rare and not 
cheap. If you don't want to spend too much, then get the 35-70/4 - very good 
lens and a real bargain.

The 28-70 Sigma wasn't that bad though - just not stellar. Just to give you 
an idea of the 28-70 Sigma ROM lens, this is one of my favourite shots - 
Oscar Peterson in his last concert in the UK - 28-70 Sigma set at 70 on the 
DMR and cropped.
