I think that they can have issues in their early days then are fine. I have 
an early G4 TI PowerBook which had screen issues soon after purchase, 
however it is still working fine +10 years on. None of my other Macs have 
had issues, but neither have similarly priced PC items.....

Do Macs break down more often than Windows machines? I've used Macs
ever since I started working for Apple in 1986 (laid off in 1979).
The only breakdown was when a power surge destroyed my computer. I
successfully sued Palo Alto in small claims court when they refused
to reimburse me; Palo Alto supplies its utilities.
