I really like the pattern in the reflector to the bottom left against
the pattern in the cicada's wing.

This is one of the four north American Magicicada species.  Cicadas
feed on plant sap.  There is a very cool animation here:

The males sing to attract mates.  The Australian "greengrocer' cicada
is probably the loudest insect in the world:
