I have been using NTI Shadow for all 3 of my main Windows PC for 2-3 years
now. You can back up to a file server, or a local driver, and you can set up
how many copies of back up. All in all, it has served me well. My config is
this:

development machine -> backup to server, every 3 hours, keep all revisions
business machine -> backup to server, immediately

photo machine -> backup locally, no revision

It can't back up files that are locked (understandably) and occasionally
dies on the W2K machine, but has no problem on the XP and 2 Win7 64
machines. Highly recommended.
