The M8 is not necessarily a lot cheaper to produce than an M9.... most of
the metalwork is the same, the processor is half as cheap ( worth about
$30???) and the sensor is more expensive.. maybe an extra thou in resale
....   

So an M8 would cost ..... about $4-5K.  Not cheap enough.  Must get rid of
the RF/VF assembly, cut the metal down to plastic, and make it someplace
besides Europe.

I would guess the market is looking for a $1500-2.5K  M.....  About what an
M8 used is selling for.....needs a new design, made in Korea or Malaysia or
some other Asian cheap location....

EVF?  Yup.  AF?  Yup... although how you do this with 60 year old lenses I
don't quite comprehend.....( See Contax AF from the past.....)
