That may be a contributory factor in some instances. Another is that some cards are commonly counterfeited. These is not unique to Leicas. Try a search on this with the big brands. Leica Camera is currrently developing new firmware for the M9 . Its main purpose is to address write problems that were reported by some users in some circumstances. I've never seen problems personally. The new firmware is currently in beta test and we should see a final version available after those results are looked at.
