If you friend hopes to sell/market the images he needs to determine many things: Were they copyrighted? Who owned the copyright? How to control it if yes, how to copyright them if no... Do you need permission of subject's estates to sell? Does permission exist? Liability plan if subject's estate try to sue... Should your friend shop the images to a stock agency? Should your friend set up a trust/foundation to house the images? Are the images stored in a proper archival situation? Are there vintage/signed prints that might have a lot of value? Can the provenience of the images be documented? Should the images be donated to a museum? Insurance? Lots of legal considerations.
