If anything, the IIIg is the LEAST attractive prospect for photographers, as it is the largest/heaviest and the most valuable of the standard models. By far my favourite is the IIIb, just slightly pre-war. It's the last of the small chassis Leicas (they got bigger with the IIIc), uninteresting to collectors, sturdily built. Takes a commonly available SCNOO rapid winder baseplate, which makes for a great package with a 35mm or (better) a 28mm lens from anybody. Emanuel
