Natchitoches Parish voted against legalized gambling several years ago.
Probably because it would conflict with the illegal gambling.

Besides there is no good East-West Highway to draw the suckers in from
Texas, like there is in Shreveport and Lake Charles..

As far as Outlet Mall and NASCAR, the demographics are quite peculiar here
in the Oldest City of the Louisiana Purchase.

We have a high number of Creoles, African Americans and Native Americans,
thus too few rednecks to make the outlet mall and racetrack viable.
