Then it won't collapse all the way!?? I used to do this when I had a Bessa R2. You can also use a small rubber band, doubled or tripled. Put it on the barrel and slide it forward until it stops just behind the knurled flange. It'll barely be visible but will stop the lens from collapsing that last few mms. You may have to experiment to learn how much distance you need to maintain. On the Bessa it's not much.
