Tina,

I'm just learning scan with Silverfast following your advices, my  
first steps are on B&W. The only things I can tell you is that I likre  
better your second posting with the original scanning, is a very  
contrasted picture. I've saw that if I adjust different exposure  
values on the scanning I obtain better or worst scales of shadows and  
lights, after I work on them with Capture One and/or PS, I have also  
noticed that changin gamma I can obtain different outputs, IMHO this  
one has a difficult color white balance and what I do in such cases is  
modify the intensity / saturations ofthe different colors.

This is just an opinion, you are the professor for me, just to  
contribute with my opinion,
