The Baron has been in production for many years, and the price has grown quite a bit, as there is tons of hand labor in its construction. They have added many things, like great interiors, to make it a bit more appealing to guys that drive expensive cars to the airfield. It may well be that last piston twin out there, without checking Piper. But, Beech has always made a more luxurious product than Piper. It is a pilot's aircraft. -----Original Message----- From: Jim Nichols Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 6:47 PM To: LUG at Leica-Users.org Subject: [Leica] IMG: From a Non-Leica RF I just finished my first roll of consumer film in my recently-acquired Bessa R2a, with the Canon 50/1.4 lens. As far as I can tell, the camera did fine, and I'm still on a learning curve. I do think I may try negative exposure compensation on the next roll. The first image is the tail rotor of a transient Eurocopter. To me, it shows that industrial design can be artistic as well as functional and safe. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Safe_+Functional+Art+15.jpg.html An almost new Beech Baron stopped in for fuel. The pilots chose self-service, so the attendant explored the new airplane. She said it had the new car smell of a luxury car. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Attendant+03.jpg.html As I approached the Baron, I noticed that my image was clear, if somewhat compressed, in the polished prop spinner. I took the opportunity to make a self-portrait. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/OldNick/Self-Portrait+02.jpg.html The film was Kodak Ultramax 400, processed at the local Walgreen's. Comments and critiques welcomed. Jim Nichols Tullahoma, TN USA _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group. See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
