If you are not replacing the drive like Mark wrote below, but will have two
drives (e.g. C and a new 'D'), then if you just right click on the drive
name in the LR Library module, you can ask it to locate missing folder or
some such and it will synchronize.

When I did that, I think I may have to do it per each top level folder, but
I'm not sure. In that case, certainly exporting as a catalog may be the
simplest.

Copy and then replacing the drive is the simplest of all.
