Hi Bob,

This one had Canadian registration, but can't say where it is based.  The 
Beech owners have a fly-in here each Fall.  They have a museum on the 
airport.

The first models had fixed gear, but almost all flying today have 
retractable gear, powered by an electric motor and an arrangement of bicycle 
chains and sprockets.  It is effective, but not very fast in getting the 
gear up.

On this one, I had the shutter speed too fast, and it stopped the prop.
