After all the beta does not include all of the features of the final version so it is not just a matter of unlocking some. That notice I saw would be standard for any normal triasl to full licence (as happens with all LR and CS retail trials. I have my LR4 running and when I entered the (spearately provided fromthe download) serial number the Adobe automated response was that it was an upgrade serial number and needed the previous as well.
