To the best of my present memory it did not. He was alone in his single
engine plane and no mechanical defect was found.
A number of people knew of his habit, including the then senior partner in
my firm who had flown with him before.
This was back in the seventies if I remember right. I knew the deceased,
had handled cases with and against him, and liked and respected him
although I sure would have been reluctant to fly with him for the stated
reason.
