What about WD-40?  I thought I read once that some people actually used it 
for medicinal purposes - arthritis, I think.

I'm only half joking.  I have to change foam nose pads on my TV glasses 
every few weeks, and WD-40 gets the adhesive residue off, and than I wash 
the WD-40 off with dishwashing soap.

Maybe it would work on skin. (?)  I've gotten WD-40 on my fingers when I've 
lubricated my motorcycle.
