I guess you are speculating that different portions of the same sensor are used in each? I'm quite fond of 3:2 personally. That translates as a maximum of 29.3x44 of the Pentax sensor. That makes it less attractive for me anyway. But then I am not remotely at the limit of what I can obtain from the M9 sensor as yet! Peter Karbe says that the current S lenses will out-resolve their next generation (30x45) sensor as well. When there's an S3 AND a goldmine in my backyard I'll take that challenge instead.
