I have an OK 70-300 zoom and it is not as good nor has a tripod collar. So I try to use the 300 if I can. Its built like a steel tank. I love the tripod collar. Here's the moon at a 15th of a second during a full eclipse which it was fully eclipsed. It was very dark red. Darker than it looks here. I think at a 15th of a second the moon is moving but I though it was a viable image. http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/lugalrabs/Autumndays/101221_034520.jpg.html - - from my iRabs.
