Lithographers used to change a small element of their image and reprint it and sell it as a new edition. Some photogs make an edition of a certain size and then change the size and make a new edition. Sounds like that is what Eggleston did. Probably needs money. Unless a negative is destroyed, it can be printed. Well that's not true. A print could be scanned and that reprinted..... Like all art, the value is determined by what you want to pay and if you like it and want to buy it. I have lots of didn't buy a print regrets. Minor White Jupiter Portfolio<http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=1880755>for $!000. Strand's Mexican Portfolio<http://www.franklinbooks.com/servlet/the-1756/Paul-Strand-cln--The-Mexican/Detail>for $1500. Weston print for $300<http://artblart.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/ew-tina-on-the-azotea-circa-19242.jpg?w=655>. Ansel print $75 (printed by John Sexton, initialed, not signed) . HCB print $1500, yes that print, the puddle jumping guy. Willy Ronis for $1000. That would be my non existent collection. If you like it, buy it..
