By comparison UK birds are pretty dull, and the sight of a red cardinal at my bird feeder would be tremendous, although we do have the occasional green woodpecker flying around. I remember waking at a guest house in Rhode Island and looking out of the window to see the lawn filled with a flock of blue jays - wonderful.
