Subject: [Leica] IMG: My First Butterfly of the Season
From: chris at chriscrawfordphoto.com (Chris Crawford)

Moths have thick, hairy bodies. Butterflies have thinner less hairy
bodies. There are also differences in the shape of their antennae and the
way they hold their wings when not flying. I thought Jim's skipper was a
moth because of its fat, hairy body. My son, who is much more
knowledgeable about bugs than I am, tells me that Skippers are neither
butterfly or moth; they are a separate family with characteristics of both.
