On the other hand, Leica does not actually manufacture batteries, so in a way there are no "Leica" batteries. Both my M8 batteries say "FOR LEICA M8" or something like that. They look identical, but I cannot imagine that I actually spent money on buying the 2nd battery from a Leica dealer. I cannot tell which one is the one that came with the M8 and which one is aftermarket. Just try it and see--what do you have to lose?
