Could potentially be: - High altitude with an often self-polarizing sky - Fluffy white clouds that hang around mountaintops - Heavy in-camera filtration (G, X0, X1) - Slow-agitation development - Silverfast used in Superfine mode on the LS-8000 - Accentuated effects of the correction curve - Accentuated effects of PS downscaling. This edge effect goes all the way back to the negs - but it definitely got more accentuated as the process continued. I may try re-scanning on my Sprintscan 120 to see if a cold cathode light downplays it or resampling using smooth.
