I suspect Keillor never aspired to this, he was pushed, as he was a writer of short humor pieces for the New Yorker before he did radio. I've never know anyone of celebrity, however so small, that aspired to the demands of it. They just were the oil that rose to the surface of the water. However, many have handled it with grace and others with bile.
