I ran across this today: a NYT piece and slide show with some recently-discovered color photos by Gordon Parks taken in the 1950s. http://lens.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/07/16/a-different-approach-to-civil-rights-images/ I've only known his work in b/w and was impressed with his tasteful use of colors here.
