WE HAD THIS KIND OF CRAP IN VANCOUVER OVER A tiny breakfast RESTURANT WHO'S NAME WAS "THE OLYMPIC RESTURANT" absolutely no reference to the "OLYMPIC GAMES WHATSOEVER!" IT WAS OPEN FOR ABOUT 25 YEARS WITH THAT NAME BEFORE THE OLYMPICS CAME TO VANCOUVER. The owner was of Greek origin and never thought it was a problem! That was until the all powerful idiots from the IOC turned up on his door step with an order to change the name ... "OR ELSE!!" HOWEVER THE OWNER WAS GIVEN NO option.... "change the name or be sued!" And that was after 25 years of the name use and never bothered by anyone until the morons running the "OLYMPIC COMMITTE" and lawyers in Lauzanne got into the money game ruling the world with their bloody nonsense OVER such a tiny breakfast shop like this. Many of the local folks were furious over such an assinine bit of Olympic Committee BULLsh!t. He did change it as he had absolutely no recourse but to do so. Or be wiped off the map! The power of the IOC money grubbing freeloading SOB's has become beyond ones wildest imagination. :-( Having covered many Olympics, summer and winter. There isn't any question, it's an incredible sports event to shoot. However today for a winning country???????? It's just become a "do the Opening --- Closing show" better than the last guy!" Oh yea and there's something about people running around a track or sliding down a hill some place. What was it? Unfortunately it's just become a money grubbing opration for the IOC members. Then we have a down and out bit of absolute political crap here in CANADA when an assigned freelancr was bumped from covering the Canadian Team.... READY? So the Prime Minister's personal photographer could go instead! A shooter who's never covered a sports event of this calibre! So if some of you think you are living in a country with crappy politicians? We have the mega ones here big-time from the Prime Minister and his sleaze-bag operations!. The good news is.... "the bumped photog is suing the Canadian Olympic Committee" for the fee he would've been paid! The PM's guy? He just goes on getting paid as though he was in the PM's office building! happy faces all round???? CRAP! :-( Dr. ted
