I had an M3, then an M6, then a couple of M6TTL. Never did the M2 or CL or M4 or M5 or M7 or MP. Got an M8 just a month before the M9 was announced.... Skipped the M9-P Skipped the MM Got a (used) M9 about 2 months before the M-E and Type 240 were announced Will skip the M-E and maybe think about the Type 240. But not really seriously. I would rather wait till they build in the VF. It may not be a RF camera anymore, but it uses M glass, and that is all I care about. Think about an SLR camera with EVF that uses Leica glass! Now that turns me on..... If my M9 dies before I willingly upgrade, then I will consider to buy whatever is available. Both new and used offerings. Am I interested in new stuff for the sake of technology? Sure. Ditto for Marketing curiosity? Absolutely. Do I think the M Type 240 is a paradigm shift? I don't do most of the stuff the 240 hype says it does..... I don't like holding a camera at arms' length as I feel it degrades my ability to hold things still, I don't do movies; etc. Is the fact that it uses a different technology (the one every other camera maker uses) sensor a paradigm shift? No. It is a minor difference, really not worth talking about except in marketing pitches. The MM a paradigm shift? No. It is a slightly better M9 and operates in B+W only. Pretty dull stuff, marketing wise. A bit more impressive in the IQ, but not enough out there to tell for real if it is really only different not better. I think the most interesting thing about the Type 240 is that it uses the same image processor as the S.. which means the R+D is ahead of the power curve. Image creation in the age of digi-cameras is all about the image processor and its FW. What has been done, what is about to be done, and what could be done. Will not think about the S system except in conversation... no interest in owning one. None.
