"Regarder la France profonde dans les yeux ...", a thing any serious politician in this country is - vainly - trying to do to get a good share of the votes! Maybe this is also true of Spain? Anyway, the tale of two worlds, the rural vs. the urban, is I think still true today - and the gap is widening.
