That scares me. I have a friend that has spent an entire career as a trumpet 
player in Broadway pits. Over his career he has played but three shows. He 
described the career path from college student to pit orchestra conductor 
and said that all of them conduct "like the guy that waves airplanes onto 
the deck of an aircraft carrier."



Pogue  was a conductor in an orchestra pit before becoming a tech writer.
I like that.
