Sometimes we have posts that we learn about other folks, their history. In the hats. "Crowns" series for example. We, well those of a curious nature have learned about a subject they may or may not have wondered about when we've seen large gatherings of black ladies at times wearing some outlandish hats. Or, now we know a "A hat illustrating geater dignity." Far more interesting than finding out the photo was taken with a 50mm lens rather than a 60mm lens! :-) cheers, Dr. ted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Tina Manley" <images at comporium.net> To: "Leica Users Group" <lug at leica-users.org> Sent: Sunday, March 03, 2013 7:31 AM Subject: Re: [Leica] IMG: Sunday morning Service in Harlem > Reminds me of Crowns - a book of church hats worn by Black women: > > http://www.time.com/time/photogallery/0,29307,1874131_1830134,00.html > > Wonderful photos, Philippe! > > Tina > > On Sun, Mar 3, 2013 at 5:55 AM, <philippe.amard at sfr.fr> wrote: > >> We were surprised to see so many people attending services while we were >> strolling the streets of Harlem last Sunday. >> A striking difference with the places we live here... >> >> >> >> Women looked so elegant and full of pious dignity. >> And the men acted as Lords. >> >> >> There was an air of unsophisticated grandeur floating around that we did >> like a lot. >> >> >> Here are 5 stolen shots, starting from here: >> >> http://gallery.leica-users.org/v/Phileica/NYC-2013/Harlem-Sunday+Believers-7850.jpg.html >> >> >> Bien cordialement de Mutz >> Philippe >> >> >> NO ARCHIVE >> >> >> >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Leica Users Group. >> See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information >> >> > > > -- > Tina Manley, ASMP > www.tinamanley.com > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information
