The negative space doesn't work with the chappie's back to it. As for the caged effect, he looks unperturbed, and all together far too comfortable with it. As a result, to me, there's no tension. You've done much better with others in the past. That said, I prefer it to the many flower pictures we see here, as I consider Leica to be all about street photography and reportage. In my opinion, that is the platform that Leica made its brand upon. Naturally, other people's opinion of this might differ a bit from my own.
