I don't print every day, far from it, but my 3880 only occasionally needs a head cleaning and the colors are still fine after a year and three months on the same cartridges. I'm beginning to think that six-month life after opening is another internet myth. I agree about b&w. I have given up using ImagePrint and just use the Epson ABW. Vick, Whilst the 3800 series (3880 and 3885) printers are a bit of overkill, the important bit is the fact that the ink is much cheaper per print than the 2880. The 38 series has large 80cc cartridges which work out way cheaper than the other A3+ printers like the 2880. I love my 3800 - it produces great mono prints, which is why I bought it Charlie] Charlie Chan www.charlie-chan.co.uk On 22 Mar 2013, at 12:44, Vick Ko wrote: > What are you using / recommending for a new color photo printer? > > My R1800 is headed to the recycler. > > Usage profile: > - infrequent usage (once a week or two weeks) > - 4x6 and 8x10 happy snaps > - letter sized paper printing > > > ....Vick > > _______________________________________________ > Leica Users Group. > See http://leica-users.org/mailman/listinfo/lug for more information _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
