I tried no flash and various flash fill ratios and the gamut of f stops. This one seemed maybe sharp enough and was f 16! Diffraction limited perhaps but at least it was in focus. Even the f 8 were not usually soft.. Neither did the F11's. And the 5.6's were not even close. I hope I didn't bang this plastic lens going through a doorway and make its insides go out of whack. - it turned out the best Phil flash was none at all. No ambient light made for no fuzziness on the flower itself. Also the black background which resulted is my favorite for such subject matter.
