Frank,

I install the O/S (Linux and Mac OS X in my case) on the SSD. This makes my 
computer appreciably faster. The content does not evaporate when I shut it 
off. :)

As for Tina's case, if she can configure LR to use the SSD as a scratch disk 
(I think PS allows this. Not an user of PS or LR so I am guessing), then LR 
should run appreciably faster.

My main complaint about external SATA drive enclosures is that they tend to 
be 3Gbps only which is about 1/2 of the speed of most internal SATA 
connectors (6Gbps).
