The accompanying text says that some un-named people think it's the greatest photograph ever made. Also, that the original negative is a record of what was there, and the final version is how Ansel felt about it. I used to think that photograph was really something, but looking at it there a year ago, third time I've seen it, pretty much spoiled it for me for good. The top and the bottom really don't look like they have a lot to do with each other. Every time I see a reproduction of it, it just looks wrong wrong wrong. That doesn't necessarily ruin the rest of St. Ansel's work for me, but I've decided that I really don't much care for that image any more. How we change.
