Early on, practically all of us who were shooting Fuji X-Pro 1 systems
(Howard, Steve, Gerry, B.D., myself) were shooting in JPG fine because the
output from the Adobe Camera Raw converter tended to smear the colours, and
Silkypix was/is just unusable. Adobe, however, have got better and better,
and Gerry alerted me a few months ago about an Camera Raw update that had
solved the problem, and I see no problems at all nowadays in shooting RAW
and processing in Lightroom. The whole problem of the X series and RAW
converters is just a myth as of today. I only shoot RAW nowadays...

I can understand why one would want to shoot only in JPG fine, though, it
simplifies photography a lot, that is, of course, if you are confident
enough of your ability, as well. (-:

It is hardly surprising that a person who has distilled his likes and
dislikes to the extent that Jim Hughes has, and with his experience, would
choose the simpler option.

Sometimes I feel RAW is for us obsessive masochists! (-:
