[Author Prev] [Author Next] [Thread Prev] [Thread Next] [Author Index] [Topic Index] [Home] [Search]Early on, practically all of us who were shooting Fuji X-Pro 1 systems (Howard, Steve, Gerry, B.D., myself) were shooting in JPG fine because the output from the Adobe Camera Raw converter tended to smear the colours, and Silkypix was/is just unusable. Adobe, however, have got better and better, and Gerry alerted me a few months ago about an Camera Raw update that had solved the problem, and I see no problems at all nowadays in shooting RAW and processing in Lightroom. The whole problem of the X series and RAW converters is just a myth as of today. I only shoot RAW nowadays... I can understand why one would want to shoot only in JPG fine, though, it simplifies photography a lot, that is, of course, if you are confident enough of your ability, as well. (-: It is hardly surprising that a person who has distilled his likes and dislikes to the extent that Jim Hughes has, and with his experience, would choose the simpler option. Sometimes I feel RAW is for us obsessive masochists!
