I believe this is because of much tighter laws regarding warranties, etc in the UK and the rest of Europe. Is that correct? It is idiotic at times - top end Swiss watches are 25-30% cheaper in India than in Switzerland, for example. Lagavulin is cheaper in Indian airport duty free than in the UK duty free - I thought duty free should level out prices, but it does not seem to work that way.
