Fair and balanced my ass, and not like Cnn is much better. We want everything in bite sized pieces. No one under about 35 has the patience to sit down and read a newspaper. Real news about complex issues cannot be put into a small bite. We have become a country of idiots. End rant. -----Original Message----- From: Ken Carney Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2013 7:30 PM To: 'Leica Users Group' Subject: Re: [Leica] Sun Time Editorial I wish we had a choice like that. The headline in our local paper today was "It's Hot" or something to that effect. It is OK for local scandals and seemingly endless coverage of storm damage, not to downplay the plight of the victims, but for national scandals and news is way behind the curve. I like the NYT but couldn't get on board with the digital subscription. The Sunday only home delivery is about $400/year, God knows what it would be for all week if we had that available. I'm thinking the traditional newspaper is pretty much a dead duck in smaller venues, except maybe for food coupons. TV is not much help for news, CNN/MSNBC/Fox is pretty much like getting a root canal. Drudge is pretty good for high-level malfeasance and scandals. Then, a paper from a nearby city, Baton Rouge, I think, moved in. Big paper, good coverage and visuals, what a newspaper is all about. Business is booming. I knew I was right! -----Original Message----- From: Tina Manley Sent: Wednesday, June 12, 2013 10:53 AM To: MUGers at yahoogroups.com ; Leica Users Group ; paw ; seephoto ; Olympus Camera Discussion Subject: [Leica] Sun Time Editorial PESO: Worth reading: http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/opinion/sally-kalson/every-good-picture- tells-a-story-one-photographer-is-worth-a-thousand-iphones-690960/ <http://www.post-gazette.com/stories/opinion/sally-kalson/every-good-picture -tells-a-story-one-photographer-is-worth-a-thousand-iphones-690960/> Tina -- Tina Manley http://tina-manley.artistwebsites.com _______________________________________________ Leica Users Group.
