We were both lucky and unlucky with the light, so just made the best of
what we had. Many (Box Canyon, the bench 6 sec. exposure you mention,
waterfalls and Columbia Gorge images) were mid-day. Fortunately the sun was
moving in and out of clouds so you just had to wait a bit.
